Narges Mohammdi, 2023 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate’s Book on Solitary Confinement Shows Her Deep Humanity

Hurrah for Narges Mohammadi,  imprisoned Iranian feminist who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this year.  She is an inspiration for the Woman, Life, Freedom Movement and for women fighting oppression around the world.  Below is  the link to my review of her recent book, White Torture,  which contains interviews with Iranian women prisoners who have experienced solitary confinement. She opposes solitary confinement as both physical and psychological torture.  This book can give readers a sense of her deep humanity and her opposition to discrimination and oppression.   This review was originally published by New Politics in the Summer of 2022.
